Wassup All!

I know its been a while and I dont think anyone has been to this in a while. Oh well. For those that do check this out still I wanted to say thanks for waiting. Here are some updates:

Superbowl Commercial

I was recently in a superbowl commercial for Budlight. It should be still airing so yes this is good news. Meaning I will be able to survive at least half the year! Yay!

Comedy This Week

And I leave with a quote that I read today...

Moving lips to breathe her name, I opened up my eyes and found myself alone alone... alone above a raging sea that stole the only girl I loved, and drowned her deep inside of me

Wassup Readers,

Here are some brain farts:

Starving Artist Aint No Joke

So the beginning of this month marks my 4th month as a fulltime comedian/actor. Its been a crazy ride to say the least. My ankles are pretty much healed, although still a bit stiff. Originally lost about 30 lbs but I think I gained back like 5-8 lbs due to some massive amounts of liquor consumption. Anyways, from about 4 months of starving myself not really to lose weight but because I am poor really got me to thinking about my career choice. I threw away a job that people would kill to be in but instead, I am tutoring FOBs just to be able to pay rent. Still I don't regret my decision at all. I get to not deal with as much bullshit. I don't have to worry about gold digging broads for one because well I am poor! So that makes it easier for me. I don't have to worry about deadlines at all. I dont have to worry about a client in hopes that they save (in turn make) money. I work for myself! But then there is always the set backs of not doing everything you want to do. Regardless, I urge everyone that reads this that they should follow their dreams because you only live once.

My First Commercial

Recently, I booked my first commercial. Its not a national commercial so don't expect to see it unless you live in the westcoast. Specifically up north folks. Anyways, it was not as exciting as I thought it would be. You sit and wait til you get called up. I got to the location at 8PM and left at 5PM. But I actually only did about an hour of work. I got my own trailer though. That was kinda exiciting. People just running up to you putting make up on your face and then ever hour check up on you to see if you had enough water or if i needed anything. It was cool in that regard. Anyways, the commercial is for this energy company and all i do is eat a hot pocket and kinda stare blankly at this guy moving around.  I know, my acting skills were stretched to its full potential on this one. Its a doozy...-.-

MAD TV

I also filmed an episode of Mad TV. I play the character that has been an integral part of this country and has been sewn into the fabric of America. Pongo... Yes, I was back as Pongo. The special guest for the show was Perez Hilton.  That dude has a crazy life. He talks shit about celebrities and draws cocks and cum drops all over pictures and is famous for it. I know a lot of people are thinking that is no way to get famous but hey, you only wish you had the money that this cat has. Anyways, the dude was pretty cool and "fabulous". Oh and if you are wondering, No, I didnt have a line. BUt all in all, it was a decent shoot but I didnt like they way it was aired and so I dont even think I will ever find a clip of it online. Sorry!

Comedy

I have been hustlin my balls of last month and this month in order to get as much stage time as I possibly can. I have done shows all over so call and for the most part the shows were successful. The thing that really irks me about the entertainment business, especially for asian americans is that we get no support from our own people. People talk shit about Margaret Cho for a terrible sitcom, they talk shit about Bobby Lee for playing women and getting naked on Mad TV, the talk shit about Daniel Dae Kim for not being able to speak korean well, or Sandra Oh for being ugly. That fucking sucks! What yall should be doing is commending them for their accomplishments and being pioneers for all aspiring entertainers. I get sick to my stomach to see an asian comedy show that is 1/3 in capacity while a latino or black show is packed. Granted the latinos and blacks have more established comedians, still the less support we get, the chances of us being on the same plateau will diminish. I hope that you help all the asian american cats hustlin out there. FM, Big Phony, FR*A, BTP, Ken Oak, Debt Stock, PK, Kollaboration, Project Newspeak, etc. We may not be as bad ass now but your support will help launch us there.

Tutoring

So as I mentioned earlier, I teach Fobs to make a living. Now these kids a genuinely nice kids and the parents are cool too. But recently, I encountered an interesting situation. So the first day I started tutoring, the mom of the children offered me Vitamin Water. I was thinking, Oh shit this is some high class shit to be just throwing out there. The next tutoring session, the mom cut fruit for me (typical in korean families). After that I didn't receive anything from the mom for about a month. I wasnt really expecting anything because she isnt really obligated to do that. Anyways, a month had passed and I was tutoring these kids regularly. Then one afternoon, while I was tutoring one kid, the mom knocks on the door. I open the door and the mom stands there with a bowl of canned corn! I was thinking who the fuck serves canned corned to a house guest. I thanked her but I was quite dumbfounded by this "delicacy". I didnt want to be rude so I ate the corn. But it kicked my ass the next day. Lets just leave that at that.

Misc

I feel that these past 4 months have been a blessed time because I got to meet people or re-meet people that are truly great individuals in my mind. You may not read about them in the newspaper or win a nobel peace prize but you dont need that to be great. One friend, I re-met, has been a real calming influence in my life. Always supportive, and just plain great person to hang out with. Thank you friend for being there. I am glad we met again and this time got to know each other. You have been one of the few bright spots in my life these couple of months and I just wanted to thank you for being you.

That is all and hope all is well with everyone.
